Video: Australia's social media ban for children has left big tech scrambling | BBC News
Australia is banning social media for children under the age of 16 from December 10. Under-16s will no longer be allowed to have social media accounts, including X, Instagram and TikTok, all existing profiles must be deactivated, and they will not be able to set up new accounts. The Australian government says the ban - a world-first policy popular with many parents - is aimed at protecting children from harmful content and other risks such as cyberbullying and grooming.
