The Pentagon is set to send thousands of elite troops from the elite 82nd Airborne division to the Middle East. The paratroopers are specialists in airborne assault operations. It comes as President Trump claimed that talks with Iran were happening “right now” and that Tehran wants to end the war. He said members of his administration were negotiating with “the right people” in Iran and said “we’ve won this war”.
